Our Story


Over 40 years of innovation

Based in Nogent-sur-Seine since 1990, POK® was created by Bruno Grandpierre in 1976. Key dates to remember:

1967

Bruno Grandpierre graduates in mechanical engineering from E.N.S.E.M. (École Nationale Supérieure d'Électricité et de Mécanique), a well-known engineering school in Nancy, France.

1976

Building on the experience acquired, Mr. Bruno Grandpierre creates POK in Paris in the 17th borough, France.

1981

The company expands. POK moves to a new area of 60m² in the 15th borough of Paris, France.

1988

POK continues to grow and moves to Montreuil, France, its new premises covers 300m².

 

1990

POK decides to move to Nogent-sur-Seine, France, in a workshop of 1,000m², a move necessary to respond promptly to its rapidly increasing clients' demands.

1992

The launch of the first Legende hand nozzle. This nozzle will later become POK's world's best-selling nozzle.

1993

Acquisition of the first Mazak CNC machine for the machining workshop.

1994

A new company, CRAN (Advanced Research Center of Nogent) is set-up in Nogent-sur-Seine. The new entity has its own product development department and the new premises will also host the assembly of hose reels.

2000

Set-up of POK China in Beijing, China. This company is dedicated to the marketing in China and Taiwan of POK products made in France.

2003

Faced with a growing demand for hose reels, OK METAL is created to better manage the manufacturing and sales of hose reels.

2005

Always willing to satisfy its customers and their needs, a new version of the lance Legende with a combined jet is created for the Marina Militare (Italian Navy).

2008

OK METAL moves to its current premises at 9 avenue Beauregard in Nogent-sur-Seine, France, a site built for its specific activity.

2009

After the Italian navy, it is for the Armada Española (Spanish Navy) that the company develops a new version of the Legende nozzle with a full lockable jet.

2011

It is the year of the recognition for POK which becomes the first manufacturer of firefighting equipment in France.

The company continues to grow internationally and prints its first catalogue in Russian in order to further expand.

2013

DQS renew POK's ISO 9001:2008 and certifies POK ISO 14001:2004.

2014

The launch of the Montmirail monitor is an immediate success.

2015

POK won the "Super Trophée" of the best performing company of the year in the Aube region, France.

2016

The Mazak CNC fleet is expanding with its 24th machine. The installation of CNC machines makes it possible to meet the growing needs for machining capacity.

The Legende nozzle is continuously improved with a new high tension diffuser version.

2017

A new version of the Montmirail monitor is released. Many improvements are proposed such as a new manometer with better accuracy, an improved ergonomic safety system for resetting .... but also a whole range of new diffusers is available.

Signature of the "availability agreement" with the Aube SDIS, thus allowing Volunteer Firefighters, working at POK, CRAN and OK METAL, to be absent for training or emergency calls.

POK obtains the label "Employeur Partenaire des Sapeurs-Pompiers" (Employer-partner of the firefighters)

2018

On 27 November, CCI International Grand Est, the CCIs of Champagne-Ardenne and their partners awarded 7 International, Industry and "Crush" Trophies to companies from Champagne-Ardenne that highlight their know-how on a daily basis.

Among the trophies to be won, there were 3 "Industry" Trophies (Technological Development, Industrial Change and Human Resources), 3 "International" Trophies (Export, Large Export, International Voluntary Service in Companies) and 1 "Crush" Trophy.

POK was awarded in the "International - Export" category.

2019

POK launches its STACS system. This system, which is CAN BUS J1939 compatible, allows fully configurable control of monitors on firefighting trucks using intelligent brushless motor technology.

2020

A 2759 m² storage building was built in 2020 to improve the management of spare parts.

The existing buildings were extended by 234 m² to accommodate offices and rest rooms.
